About Lainey Feingold

Conference Presentations

Lainey is a frequent speaker at disability technology conferences about Structured Negotiations, web accessibility, Talking ATMs, and related issues. In recent years, she has presented at the annual Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference in Los Angeles, California known as the CSUN Conference, at the Assistive Technology Industry Association Conference in Orlando, Florida known as the ATIA Conference, and at the TechShare Conference in London sponsored by the Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB).

CSUN

Lainey has spoken for many years at the annual Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference in Los Angeles commonly known as CSUN. In 2008, Lainey will be speaking on Wednesday, March 12 on “Structured Negotiations: Effective Advocacy for Making Information and Information Technology More Accessible.”

2005
Web Accessibility and the Law: Recent Legal Developments and Advocacy Strategies, presented with Crista Earl, Director, Web Operations at the American Foundation for the Blind. Paper available at Web Accessibility and the Law .

ATIA

Lainey and AFB Vice President Paul Schroeder gave two presentations at the 2008 conference of the Assistive Technology Industry Association in Orlando, commonly known as ATIA.

Structured Negotiations
Lainey and Paul gave an ATIA Structured Negotiations presentation in which they discussed how that advocacy strategy allows for significant participation of the disability community and how the method has been used successfully to increase access to Talking ATMs, websites, point of sale devices and other technology.
Web Accessibility
Lainey and Paul’s ATIA session on web accessibility drew a diverse audience interested in recent court developments and the ways in which Structured Negotiations has been used to increase the accessibility of the web.

TechShare

Lainey and Paul Schroeder also spoke at the 2007 TechShare conference in London, sponsored by the Royal National Institute of the Blind. Lainey and Paul gave a Techshare presentation on Structured Negotiations, emphasizing the importance of sharing advocacy efforts and information across international borders.
